501(c)3 organization in Washington County TX that promotes public education and awareness of food insecurity and coordination of efforts of partner organizations.

Established: 2017
Geographic Focus: Washington County, TX
Leadership Structure: The Board of Directors meets separately from the coalition to provide guidance, support, and strategic direction to the coalition. The coalition is a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization. (Two-tiered Leadership Structure)
Coalition Coordinator: Semi-Formal - Unfunded Coordination by Leadership (Board of Directors)
Community Assessment: Completed a Summer Feeding Survey

Having the coalition in place prior to this crisis [COVID-19] has helped tremendously. We have built up trust with organizations and important players in the community. We know whom to call and are able to share resources, problem solve, and advocate for our community during this crisis because of the strong relationships that have developed through the coalition. - Rev. Public Meeting Schedule

The coalition meets via Zoom every other month at 1:15 pm generally on the fourth Tuesday. Board meetings immediately follow the coalition meetings.
